Set it up in Claude

  1. In Claude, go to Settings › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Campable and paste the address above as the URL. Campable needs no sign-in, so leave authentication off.
  3. Start a new chat, open the tools menu and turn Campable on. Then ask your question.

Custom connectors are available on Claude's paid plans.

Set it up in ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Choose Create to add a connector. Name it Campable, paste the address above as the URL, and set Authentication to No authentication.
  3. Start a new chat, pick Campable from the tools menu and ask your question.

Developer mode is available on some ChatGPT plans.

Other AI apps

Any AI app that connects to MCP servers over Streamable HTTP works. Most take settings like these:

  • “We land in Auckland on 3 February with 12 days. Plan a relaxed loop with hot pools and beaches”
  • “Which Campable hosts in Hawke's Bay have space this weekend?”
  • “Save this plan as a trip page I can send to my family”

The more you tell it, the better the plan: your dates, who's coming, the length of your motorhome and how much driving suits you.

  • Local hosts first Each night is planned with a Campable host along your route. Only on a night with no host free does it suggest a holiday park or DOC campsite, and it labels it clearly.
  • Real drive times and prices Drive times come from real routes. Prices and availability come live from Campable for your dates, so nothing is made up.

  • A trip page to share Ask it to save your plan and you get a page on campable.com with every night, drive and booking link. Send it to the people coming.
  • Book on Campable Each stay has a link to book it on Campable. Your AI never books or takes payment for you.

Good to know

  • It's free, with no sign-in.
  • Campable doesn't keep your name or any personal details from these chats. We only count which tools get used, so we know what to improve.
  • Your AI provider's own privacy terms apply to your chat.
  • Each connection can make up to 60 requests a minute, which is plenty for planning a trip.
