What are the benefits of listing my club with Campable?
Here are a few reasons that other clubs have decided to host with Campable:
- Create additional revenue from underused space. If you have the space for a motorhome to park, you can create extra income for each night that a motorhome stays.
- Attract high-value travellers from home and overseas to your door. Expect more visitors to your bar or cafe.
- Accommodation for special events. Rugby and golf events often bring a huge number of tourists, who are in need of accommodation. In these cases the associated clubs are in high demand, so it's a great opportunity to meet interested travellers. Plus, at these times a premium can be charged.
- Some Hosts also join Campable to fund a specific project. Whatever project or cause you may be working toward, Campable allows you to create income to fund it - all from the space you already have.
How much revenue will my club produce with Campable?
Your income depends on your nightly price, how many vehicles you take at once, and which nights you're open. You choose all three, and you can pause your listing whenever it doesn't suit you.
It's free to list. Campable's commission is 25% of the nightly price (and 15% of any extra-person charges and add-ons), worked out on what the guest paid after the card-processing fee. For example, on a $30 night the card fee is about $1.17 and you receive about $21.60. See Payments, fees & tax for the details.
How should I price my nightly rate?
Hosts set their own price, from $25 a night (the minimum). The price suggestion on each site shows what similar places nearby charge and how often they're booked, so use it as your starting point. The examples below show how different offerings can be priced.
So how much should you charge? That depends on a few things…
- Firstly, what amenities are you providing? If your Guests will have access to water, power, rubbish disposal, toilets, showers or wifi, your property will be more highly valued.
- As well as amenities, some Hosts will provide something extra to attract visitors, such as two free drinks or a gift voucher for your cafe. Some golf clubs also offer a free or discounted game of golf.
- What's your club like? If your club has a nice surrounding environment, is a great place to hang out, or is close to attractions, you will be able to charge more.
- Is there a big event coming up? If so, you may want to increase your nightly rate for that time period.
Here are a few examples of how clubs with different offerings might price one night’s stay for Campable travellers.
- $25 per night. Overnight parking with access to a toilet and drinking water.
- $35 per night. Adds club amenities such as showers, power or wifi.
- $50 per night. Adds a voucher for the cafe or two free drinks, and a free game of golf.
What if I only want to make my club available for an event?
That's absolutely fine. In Calendar & prices for your site, add a one-off season for the event dates with your price and the number of spaces, and keep the site closed the rest of the time (choose the days you're usually open, or close days on the calendar). If you plan to host more than one party during an event, you'll probably need a temporary consent from your council, so check with them first.
What if a Campable Guest is badly behaved?
Campable Guests are held accountable to the Campable Rules of Etiquette, so in the unlikely event that they do not respect your property, we can remove them from Campable. Contact us straight away if it happens, and leave an honest review of the guest. Also, like any other guest at your club, Campable Guests must behave in accordance with your rules and regulations. Put your rules for visitors in your listing's house rules, so Campable guests see them before they book.
What about Health and Safety?
The health and safety of our Hosts and Guests is our absolute priority. Here's how we can ensure that everyone is well-informed about safety:
If you have your own health and safety policy, include the key points in your house rules and arrival instructions, so guests see them before they arrive. (Listings can't contain phone numbers, emails or web links.) We also recommend the OnSide app, which helps you to manage workplace health and safety.

- In the Rules of Etiquette, which outlines the behaviour expected of a Guest when they stay with any Campable Host. This includes an explanation of potential hazards and safety risks when staying on private property, and Guests are bound by these standards, as is stated in our Terms and Conditions.
