How does Campable work?

Find a place to stay

Campable is the way to stay on private land around New Zealand: working farms, orchards, vineyards, lifestyle blocks, clubs, and quiet spots by the water. Our hosts are locals who share a spot for your campervan, motorhome, caravan or tent.

Search by place, browse the map, or explore by region (for example Northland or Canterbury) and our collections. Use the filters to find what you need: toilets, showers, power, water, pets, vehicle size and more. Heading off today? See tonight's deals.

Every listing has its own page at campable.com/stays/place-name, with photos, reviews, the host's house rules, and who can stay.

Book and pay securely

Choose your dates, tell us who's coming (people, children and any pets), and book.

  • Instant Book: your stay is confirmed straight away. Your card is charged 14 days before the stay (or when you book, if it's sooner).
  • Request to Book: you send the host a short message about yourselves. You're only charged if they accept.

All payments go through Stripe, our secure payment provider. You can book on the website or in the Campable app for iPhone and Android.

Talk to your host

Got a question before you book? Message the host through Campable. Once your stay is confirmed, you'll get the host's private arrival instructions (and their welcome video, if they've made one), and you can message each other directly.

Stay, then review

Arrive before dark, park where your host asks, and enjoy a real local experience. Please follow our Rules of Etiquette.

After your stay, you review your host and your host reviews you. Reviews are double-blind: neither of you sees the other's until you've both written one, or 14 days have passed.

Plans changed?

You can cancel on the website or in the app. Cancel 6 or more days before a night for a full refund, less the card-processing fee. See our Cancellation Policy for the details.

Happy exploring!
