The place

Experience a real New Zealand rural artist’s home, with amazing views and scenery, some historic memorabilia from the local area. I am an outgoing supportive, professional and qualified host, also tourist guide. You should enjoy your experience here and in this district (Catlins) and benefit from my tour guide experience! I am a social host who enjoys a chat, a cup of coffee, and passing on tour guide experience from my background as an experienced travel guide in New Zealand. I love to help with routes, locations and activities, to enlighten your travel experience. I am a Professionally Qualified and experienced, globally exhibited and published artist.

You’ll be safe and secure in a peaceful location parked on a gravel reinforced purposely built pad that you won't get stuck on in winter, perfectly flat area. On the site is a grey water and black water disposal drain that you are welcome to use. At the other end of the site is a fresh water tap with pure Clutha water that you can top up your tanks. Your parking site is about 8 meters away from my house, with a great view and shelter from the prevailing wind and weather.

This site is also close to many New Zealand southern destinations. Located on the northern boundary of the Catlins Region of Otago. 1 Hour to Dunedin (Airport) & Invercargill (Airport), approx 1 hour to nearest point of Cycle Trail at Beaumont, 25 mins to seaside at Kaka Point, 20 mins to Balclutha, 25 mins to Gore and about 2 hours to Queenstown/Lake Wakatipu (hour and a quarter to Kingston), 2+ hours to Te Anau. From my place you have access to all southern South Island areas of scenic beauty and native flora & fauna.

There is also unlimited FREE WiFi (ultra-fast broadband). If you'd like laundry done please ask (otherwise laundries are available in Balclutha & Gore). Pets OK, dog/s on a lead (cat in residence!). Power available (coin donation), please ask.

Peaceful spot which was perfect for our west to east journey stop. Great host who was so helpful on routes, traffic problems and places of interest. A very useful stop for early on any trip for advice
