The place
Your host Peter welcomes you to 'The Point,'beautiful seaside farmlet, with stunning sea views, farm animals and close to the seal colony. Daily sheep shearing shows at 1.30 and 4.00 pm. The site is shingle over an old road so it is firm in winter and able to handle heavy vehicles. Breathtaking views of the coast and mountains await our guests after a busy day on the road or enjoying yourself at one of Kaikoura’s many award winning activities & attractions. Uniquely situated, nestled in a bay overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Seaward Kaikoura Mountain Range.
Kaikoura is spoilt for choice with many cafés and restaurants to choose from in the town centre or one of Kaikoura’s top restaurant’s just around the corner – The Pier Hotel a short walk away (15-20 minutes).
The Point farm originally covered 600 acres of the Kaikoura Peninsula and ran 2000 sheep. Today we have 90 acres and run 300 Drysdale sheep on the farm which still forms part of the Kaikoura Peninsula. While staying at The Point come and see the sheep shearing show and catch up with the famous “Ram Man“; he eats out of the palm of your hand, ask about our inhouse special rate to see the show.
Enjoy the beauty of the natural landscape of Kaikoura with a short walk to the Seal Colony and or around the Peninsula walkway which is a 3 1/2 hour loop.

Best spot in town. Lots of room. Great host.
Endroit calme près de la mer au départ de la rando bord de mer, eau potable , péter est sympa
Great position. Plenty of room although I popular time you may en up at the back of the paddock which is not as flat as the front. Owner is pretty cruisy. Very self service. Clean porty loo.
Great place - we had the only single stay direct with sea view. Peter came to say hello and was very nice. In the spot there is drinking water and 1 toitoi toilet.
