The place

Please arrive after 12 noon and leave by 12 noon on your final day unless an extension is sought and granted.

This property is a private location for only one family/friends group at a time. There are several sites available and guests can park additional vehicles for their family or friends group up to a maximum of three for a cost of $25 per additional vehicle per night.

You'll love staying here because it's perfect for families, with a safe swimming beach on your doorstep, good fishing and even paua and mussels to be had off the nearby rocks. This property is also perfect for relaxing, cycling, and beginner surfing. If you are a more experienced surfer there is the famous Blacks Reef a few kilometres down the road and also Mahunga beach nearby for the intermediate surfer or for an optional safe swimming beach.

This property is 250 metres to the beach over easy ground through sand and coastal plantings and the property is beach front. You're welcome to stay here if you are travelling in any self-contained vehicle, including motorhome, campervan, RV, caravan or converted bus.

There is a drive-up black water dump site at the nearby freedom camping area.

It is advisable to arrive with full fresh water and empty grey water tanks.

Other places to fill your fresh water and empty your grey and black water are Wairoa 42 km to the south and Gisborne 77 km to the North.

The property is 400 metres from the Blue Bay freedom camping area, which provides public toilets, however we only accept self contained vehicles at this property. Please ensure you use your own toileting facilities or the public toilets. It is NOT acceptable to toilet on the grounds at all. Befouling or littering the area in any way will not be tolerated.

The listed nightly rate is for one RV vehicle with a maximum of two adults and three children. You are welcome to pitch a tent on the site in addition to your RV. Further RV vehicles associated with the same group can stay at an additional cost of $25 per night per vehicle. There are two caravan plugs and one three pin power plug available. If you wish to book additional RV's please contact Sandra on to arrange payment for these.

Guests are welcome to use the concreted veranda areas on the north, east and south of the onsite building to sit and relax. Some of these are covered and will give protection from the hot sun and any inclement weather. There is also a six seater wooden picnic table on the lawn and a small wooden deck with steps that can be used. Guests are also welcome to use the roof top deck above the cabin provided they closely supervise any children on the stairwell and while on the roof deck. Please, no parties or excess frivolity on the roof deck. The views across Blue Bay and out to sea are stunning from this elevated deck.

There are two outdoor security cameras at this property for the purpose of burglary deterrent. These are not monitored or alarmed. One has a spot light which will turn on if movement is detected at night, just like a regular security light.
